Title: Thinking of buying a 1400.....
Post by: elvisboy77 on June 13, 2015, 03:42:17 PM
My last Guzzi was an 08 Cal Vin.  Just test rode a 2015 Cali Custom, at Scoot Richmond, very nice!

I'm thinking I really like the new Eldorado, of course I am 2-3 hours from the nearest shop - so-

How much sorting do the 1400s need in general.?  Is it worth waiting for the 2015 vs getting a 2014?

Thanks for the input.  I just also rode a Harley Road glide, also nice but not Guzzi nice!

Someone posted this a while back.  Smokin' deal, done up nice,  and pretty much new.

In CT, not sure where you live?

A short flight away, in NC!  That's a nice bike, I have reached out to them.  Thanks

That resale price makes me want to cry. Obviously a great deal, probably 2000 in options with those bags and wind screen. I don't think there is any major changes from2014 to 2015 . I'm still loving my 2014, no problems in 7000 miles. Shouldn't need any sorting if properly set up for delivery.

Ad also mentions luggage rack.  Not shown mounted in the photos.

My 1400, one of the first off the boat in mid-2013, has been pretty much perfect. A couple of vibrating exhaust pipe shields that took what? Five minutes to fix? So I would not worry about 'sorted.'

And yikes, those leather bags alone cost the guy probably two grand with sales tax and mounting hardware. And the windscreen is almost $500, because there are no third-party options like National Cycle for those.

I've had my Custom for 15 months and 10,000 miles with zero problems.  I'd assume the only sorting you will have to do is the fit ,(seat, windscreen,etc.).

I really didn't like the Eldorado when I first saw it but it's starting to grow on me.

I've never had to "sort" a new Guzzi and feel bad for those that have had to.  I really believe that Piaggio's quality has vastly improved.  The only thing I've had to do to a new Guzzi is add the mods that I wanted to it.

That new Eldo is for sure nice looking and I wouldn't mind having one myself.  I've never been a fan of whitewalls, but that's an easy fix.

If your gut tells you to get it, get it now or it will be gone when you finally listen to your gut. :thumb:

Also am diggin' the new Eldo. I'm going to wait to see if comes here in RED next year. The black version just doesn't do it for me.

I'm thinking about the same thing also...I'm counting my pesos and I have a test ride schedule for Wed.  :azn:
