Title: NGC: Statue of Liberty Info
Post by: Kevin M on June 16, 2015, 06:18:26 AM
I'm heading to the national rally & am interested in seeing the Statue of Liberty. I'm wondering if someone can tell me the easiest way to do it. I know traffic and can be tough and driving or riding can be an issue, if there is a good place to park & ride public transportation, best place to catch a tour or any other information that would be helpful. I would like to avoid traffic as much as possible but will do what it takes. Thanks for any help.

Stay on the Jersey side:

Liberty State Park, NJ - New Jersey Terminal Departure

The ticketing and departure areas at Liberty State Park are located by the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal near the water. Parking is available for a fee. This is an ideal departure location for you if you are traveling by car, motorhome or private bus. Liberty State Park is also accessible by taxi, ferry and public transportation.

By Car - From the New Jersey Turnpike take exit 14-B and follow the signs to Liberty State Park.

I was there in 2000 and went over from the jersey side like guzziowner said. Once we got to liberty island it took probably 4 hrs to get up to the crown and back down again. Worth every minute. Greatt tour!
