The V11 Jackal that I gave to my Son-In-Law has an EV style backrest and rear rack on it, well it did... I also supplied him with the National Cycles side cases and racks however, the two racks do not work together.
Has anyone here found a compatible rear rack/backrest that will bolt up with the NC racks on a Jackal...?
Thanks,
Rob

My Bassa had a Hepco + Becker backrest, along with the National Cycle Cruiseliner bags.

Thanks Mike,
No interference issues with the upper/ rear most mounting bolt between the H & B rack and the NC mounts...?
Thanks,

I don't have any closeups of the hardware, but it worked.
Backrest was mounted first, then the bag mounts on the outside of the backrest. There were spacers between the fender and the backrest mounts:

I modified my NC racks to fit on the outside of the EV rack:

So, if I get the photos correctly, essentially turning the angle bar top mount around so that the flat, vertical part is outside...
It may come to that. Is the mount pipe or solid round bar...? I noticed the Allen head bolt in the mount...
Thanks,

I hacked off the stock mount on the rack, and, not having a welder, added a threaded insert to the tubular end. I fashioned a mount using flat stock and fastened this to the threaded insert. The inserts are set to receive an M8 bolt (I think) and use red locktite.
My thought was that if I wanted to mount without the factory luggage rack, I could make another mount and bolt that on instead.

Here are the inserts I used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QUZNUO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

Nice, I have a welder so I guess I'll just turn the mount around. Doh... Why didn't I think of that...? ( slaps forehead )

The upper mount itself will need to be cut off. This is how I would do it: Cut the mount off, then put the racks on the bike with the two remaining mounting points. It will be obvious as to how to bend the bar steel to mate the newly created stub on the NC rack to the factory backrest. Tack weld the new mount to the NC racks, pull them, then finish the job on the bench.
Good luck!
