My 01 Jackal has the front disc on the left side of the wheel. Is it possible to install the left front disc from an 03 Stone onto the right side of my 01 Jackal wheel? Thanks guys.

W/O looking , think the rotor will work , the caliper won't , as it is "sided" .

OK thanks. I will give it a shot. Just need to find a right side caliper and a front brake master cyl that can handle dual discs.

Added a 2nd disc to my stone using used Ducati parts from EBay. The only issue is the brake line, you can add a 2nd line and use a longer banjo bolt on the master or get a custom one into two line made up, which looks nicer.

Thanks for the info, Karl Von. Nice looking bike, by the way. I have seen your add.

it is a great bike, but i just don't have room with 7 bikes and I just picked up a Quota and am ready to get my Centauro back on the road, so I am not riding it much anymore, so it is time to sell it.

You will need to change the master cylinder if you add a 2nd caliper. You will need a larger one 14 mm. If you have fat handlebars, you will need a master cylinder that with a larger offset on the reservoir also. Adding the second brake line is easy. Buy a longer caliper banjo bolt. Run the second line from one caliper over the fender to the second caliper. You will need 90 degree ends on the brake hose.
I use Goodridge brand hoses and fittings.
The end results will be much improved braking. I de-linked the brakes on my bike. I have nearly wore the front tire out in the same length of time as it took to wear the rear tire out. I ride my bike hard/aggressive braking.

Thanks for the info, Orange. I appreciate it.

I converted both of my Stone Touring models to dual front discs. Best brake upgrade imaginable. I used a 2006 Suzuki V-Strom master cylinder for each installation, sourced from E-bay for about $70 each. The 650 and 1000 V-Strom master cylinders are the same. These are 16mm piston size. A 14mm is too small to flow enough brake fluid. The OEM master cylinder is 13mm.

DITTO on that.
In regards to the master cylinder I had a good look at it and figured there was enough pull distance in the current setup. So I made up an actuator pin that was 3mm longer. Worked a treat.
