I'm a 70s bike nut, and tuning carbs has become second nature, as well as a necessary evil.
I'm loving my EFI V7 (though the 10-15 kph surging is a little annoying), but I am absoltuely clueless when it comes to EFI. I want to read/ learn so that it starts to make sense to me, and get myself to a place where I'm willing to tinker, and know what I;m doing.
Can anyone point me to a good, concise introduction that will lead me into bigger and better things? I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Try the Guzzi manuals. If you understand internal combustion engines, then you'll understand the manuals on EFI. EFI merely offers virtual carbs, and needs input to determine what to do when.

I made the choice to pay Todd at GuzziTech to reflash the ECU on my 2004 Breva 750 - instead of wasting a summer of riding time futzing around with fuel maps.
Todd completely resolved some serious fueling issues.
Check out all the Guzzi 750 info at this link:

Hi,
this is the most concise document I know of: http://www.ecmspy.com/download/BuellTuningGuide_EN_V2.0.pdf
All the basics apply to any alpha-n ECU. If you want to delve deeper,
More specific to Weber Marelli ECUs and hence to Guzzis: http://www.bikeboy.org/performance.html
Otherwise it's studying, trying, experimenting.

Thank you very much, gentlemen!

Here is a good document referring to the early P8 fuel injection systems
It mostly applies to the later 15M variety
Not really tuning so much as an explanation of how they work

I have no help for you, but I applaud your desire to get familiar with it. :thumb:

It will also depend on wht model V7. If it is one of the variants that uses the 15M-RC then the system is well understood and fairly straightforward. If it is a single TB model that uses the MUIG3 then things are still a bit murkier.

You know you understand EFI when you awaken in the night in a cold sweat screaming "Marelli!"
At this time, the only way to change a map in the MUIG3 is using the Rexxer system.
