Title: In need of a screw or five......
Post by: dsrdave on June 26, 2015, 11:32:11 AM
I'm looking for 5 part #98326014 screws.  They're used to attach the fairings on an 850 Lemans, CX100, SP1000,Monza and probably more.  It's a low profile slotted screw that I seem to be having difficulty finding.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thx, Dave.

It looks like they have it, however a lot of places show it but it's not available.  If I don't find some near by I'll give them a shot.  Thanks for the link !!!  Dave.

Glad to see that someone wants to do this the right way.  I went to Ace Hardware over 20 years ago and purchased small bolts, cup washers, lock washers, and nuts to mount my LM3 windshield.  This is something I should look into if your quest is successful.  Good luck.

No, these are not for the windshield.  These hold the fairing to the brackets.  McMaster does not have the correct ones.....  Bevel Heaven has some chrome ones used on a Duc. But they are not quite correct either.  And yes I believe the windshield mount screws are nylon.

Chris Harper told me only Nylon washers and bolts for windshield mounted to fairing so whole windshield breaks away instead of shatters into sharp pieces in a crash.  Hope I never have to find out if it's true. Got some from Harper's but also available at ACE hardware.

If its the same large diameter slotted head screws that were used on the LM-IV, they may be really hard to find new. I'd check with Harpers or MG classics or maybe Eish.

I lost one and ended up using a truss screw with a large washer underneath It was under the fairing so didn't really show.

My bad for not looking more closely.  Sad to say, but I doubt the ones mounting the fairing to the bracket are correct either.  Oh well, my 3 is a keeper with over 25 years of ownership.
