I was saddened and shocked to find out that former OKlahoma MGNOC rep Big Richard has passed away more than a month ago. I only found out by reading a CL ad for a Guzzi for sale; http://tulsa.craigslist.org/mcy/5096823546.html Here's his obit: http://www.hbmfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Richard-Hampton-3/
Richard was a good soul, kind hearted person, a great joker, and I loved that big lug. It's too late to send flowers etc. I have not contacted Sandy, his widow yet, and I'm not sure it's time yet. I will miss him, and be sad knowing I'll never see him again this side of the veil. RIP, buddy!

Wow, that is a shock, and sad news indeed. Richard was truly a nice guy, and a great advocate for Guzzi. He went out of his way to provide advice and encouragement after I purchased my first Guzzi, a sadly neglected '71 Ambassador. In those pre-internet days, finding someone who not only understood Guzzis, but was enthusiastic about them, kept me going when I might otherwise have given up. I hadn't seen him in years, but I might not be into motorcycles today, and certainly not Moto Guzzis, if not for Big Richard.

I remember Big Richard!! Met him a couple times and in fact sold him a large Guiliari single Seat for his eldo.
Great guy.

I spoke with his wife Sandy. He was working on something in the room, felt light headed, and died instantly. Age 53.
