I must not see the search function anymore, were there not some Heli Bar threads on here for the early model Norge's at one point. I've decided to order a set and see how they work out, never been uncomfortable with my stock setup during the first 20k miles on the bike, but curious to see if the Heli's make riding any different for long distance trips.

They are worth the expense especially if you have to spend any time on the freeway.

Super! Thank you both...that's very helpful. Looking forward to putting them on!

Worth every penny for me.

I've always liked them since installing them - just have a long ratchet extension handy to get at the screws that come up from underneath, and don't forget to loosen ALL the cable tie downs and such before you start.

I worried over dropping that much $$$ on them but I have no regrets. They will put the outer part of your hand more in the breeze but it's not been an issue for me except in really cold weather.
Do it!

For future reference , the search function is right underneath the donation status at the top right hand of the dec page . Small window next to google .
Hmm , maybe Luap should move it to another location

Sort of on topic, I wonder why they don't make them for the second generation Norge...

New bikes basically already have them. I would like to try the old bars on my 2012 if they won't hit the fairing of shield.

Not enough demand.
$300 or more is a lot of money to get about 1 inch of rise (most you can get without needing new cables) when you can get that for about $20 and have between 1/4" and a full inch, you choice.

A 1 inch rise does not make anything hit the windscreen.

Thanks Dusty...I had tried a few days ago on a search button, but it seemed to search Google rather than the site...maybe my imagination. Works great now.
All the rest of the feedback is great...looking forward to a fun project and some tinkering!
Cheers fellas!

Yes..this is what got me thinking as I rode a friends 2011 Norge and noticed the more upright position. I have enjoyed the riding position so far on the original stock bars, but on long long days, I think it might definitely be more comfortable to be a bit more upright. Also curious if they changes at all the wind flow over the helmet...we'll see!
Also thinking of powder coating them black or plasti-dipping them before mounting them...have to see what color they come in and how well they match the Silver Norge stock.

They match the stock color, at least on my 07.
