Title: What Ohlins Forks on Nero Corsa?
Post by: Dimples on July 09, 2015, 04:09:05 PM

I need to replace the fork seals. What model Ohlins forks were used on the '04 Nero Corsa?

Can I order a standard "Road and Track 43mm" seal kit as used on Aprilia? Do I need to use Ohlins fork oil or is there a good substitute? What is the air gap for the Guzzi?

Thanks!

They would be the cheapest model.
Dealers have the seals, I use a high quality 10 or 15W fork oil.
105mm from top- air gap  aprox 550cc of oil

Yes, I used the seal kit from the 2006 Yamaha R1 LE, the dealer was closer & the prices most reasonable.

GSXR1000 K4 same as the Aprilias of the same era the Suzuki seals are double lipped and less prone to leaking.

I took my Ohlins to the local Ducati dealer, and he charged me for 1hr labor (included cleaning inside and out) plus parts. Right about $200 total with Ohlins parts and oil. He had it done within 2 hours of me dropping them off. Sure, I could have saved some cash, but it would've taken me several hours, and only having off 1 day per week, it was worth it. I had him replace the wheel bearings as well, which was an extra $20 labor, and I supplied the parts-Nachi bearings (made in Japan) from a local supplier at about $10 each. I dropped them off before work, picked them up at lunch, and got to test ride the new Ducati Scrambler.

Mine were leaking when I bought the bike, and the Motion Pro seal mate actually stopped the leak. I figured 11 year old fork oil should be renewed, regardless. I have now idea how much oil leaked out when I picked it up. http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0395/

Look at the lower inside caliper/axle area for a code FG XXXXXX. Mine was on the inside surface of the right side. Or, visit the most excellent parts look-up feature on the Harper's site.
