Title: Workin' on the bucket list
Post by: blackbuell on July 12, 2015, 12:59:00 PM
Though I'm only semi-retired (will be fully retired next May), I've already started working on my bucket list, which includes many MC rides, some overseas travel, some long hikes, and a few mountain ascents. Tomorrow I head to Colorado and Utah to check off a few items from the list: 3 new 14ers in CO: San Luis Peak, Handies Peak, and Uncompahgre Peak. In Utah, I plan to hike a few of the long slot canyons. Might rent a dual sport bike in Lake City, CO to ride over some of the high mountain passes in the San Juans.

Life is good! :boozing:

Jealous!
I still have a couple years to go. I like to pretend that I enjoy my job, but after 35 years I'm ready to roll.

Luckily, I've been able to travel (5 continents) and take some good road trips over the years.

Have fun, be safe, and post plenty of pictures so us workin' stiffs can see how bucket listers do it.

Jon,

We both will fully retire May, 2016.  We were home in SW Colorado recently.  You picked some great mountains!  I want to climb Engineer Mountain as part of my bucket.

Jon, don't forget us folks in NE Ohio.  Put at least one short ride in this direction when you're creating your list.

After 45 years from when I first started Construction I'm tired and want to quit Butt and Ex and a present who decided to quit work and play tennis a decade ago has decided otherwise for me.

So I have a "pail" list and have decided to plan times for my pail now because I figure I'll end up going with the the yoke on.

Still, I've been working on my daughters house every weekend and the thought hit me that she's got room for a Yurt.......
