So, I've finally figured out why my right foot often feels like i have a sock wrinkled up in my boot. It's nerve inflammation called merton's Neuroma. It's exacerbated if your metatarsals are squeezed together. While I love my Vendraminis- I'm wondering if purposefully wider riding boots would be helpful. Any Sidis I've tried have been waaay narrow. Obviously, I can go the work boot route- i know that already. I like riding boots and the additional protection they offer. Anyone know of a brand that is more 'merican sized with a wide toe box?

I have extremely wide feet 5e. I purchase all my footwear from Hitchcock Shoes. They import a french brand called Propet in wide widths. It is waterproof, breathable and laces well above the ankle. Although not a proper riding boot they are quite sturdy

I have arches you could park a bike under, and I bought Gasolinas. Trace your foot per their recommendation, email them the measurements, discuss sizing with them, custom made to your foot in Southern Mexico.

Red Wind has a full line of work boots including "Heritage Engineer" boot in widths.

Back in the '70's Sidi did have wide fittings, but no longer, it seems. Here in Oz, Rossi make boots for those of us who spent childhood & youth running around bare-footed - thus now (if not before) need a wider last. I wear Alpinestar Web Goretex which also have a wide last. I seem to remember that other Alpinestar models vary - some wide, some narrow. Keep checking out the stores with larger ranges & keep trying on likely contenders until you find some that fit well & choose from those. You can't afford to buy footwear on-line or by mail order unless you know they fit properly.
Good luck,
Mal

While I love my Vendraminis-
Don't give up on Vendramini. Did you buy them from a US store like BikerworldUSA? They only carry stock sizes. Vendramini will custom make a pair of boots to your measurements.... http://www.customfitmotorcycleboots.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/scheda_valutazione_3_lingue.pdf

I ordered a pair of Tuareg's from Italy and they're great. I did have to pay a custom's fee.

I have a Morton's Neuroma in my right foot, caused by a broken bone years ago. Yes, anything that even slightly squeezes the bones together gets it painful in a hurry. I've learned to avoid that, and seldom have symptoms. Finding riding boots that have plenty of width for your foot will help a ton.

Daytona make wide sized boot. I have worn them for years, good quality, waterproof (gortex versions), good protection and comfortable.

Also look at TCX boots. Motorcyclegear.com sells them. Wider than Sidis for sure. I love mine.

Several motorcycle boot companies offer a wide version. I wear a size 13 EE shoe so I HAVE to wear wide boots. Been wearing them for many years and they DO make a difference for people who need them.

I've softened boots at a key point or two with neatsfoot oil and squeezed them out with a wood block cut to length, rounded, and jammed in. Also used to cut holes or thin the insert at the critical spot. Once there's enough room, some cotton between toes helps.
Right now I have a cracked little toe and only my Irish Setter work boots are useful - my touring boots are good for about 5 minutes!!!

You can also look at Chippewa Rally boot made in USA goes to size 13 and EE width.

AEROMOTO has two boots on the market. And they come in wide sizes although they are not marked as such on the boot tags. I have the 'less aggressive' soles and wear orthodic insoles in them. (I think the "Air Tours" have the hiking boot soles and do not fit wire feet as well.) So far they have broken in comfortable. Quite a deal for waterproof leather boots costing $109. Look around, I think a got them via the Web Bike World site.

I have a fairly large/wide foot and wear Icon 1000 Truant's. They leave me some wiggle room in the toe box, and are surprisingly comfortable to walk in.

Also try an Aetrex shoe insert with metatarsal arch support, makes a lot of difference. About $65.
