Looking for a tire for the rear of my Breva. Have Metzler 880s on it now any suggestions. Think cheap but good.

I have Shinko Ravens front and rear on my Norge. Low price but not a cheap tire. Good grip and wear. Good even on wet pavement. I'll buy them again.

I went with the Pirelli Angel GTs right after I bought it, it turns on rails. The previous owner's 3000 mile Metzlers were crowned real bad, probably low tire pressures and a passenger. I love the Pirelli, but I was considerations the Michelin Pilot Roads before I purchased the Pirellis.

they may be a bit more expensive, but going with Angel GTs or Pilot road 4s is going to be worth it in the end. Those two tires get so many more miles than the rest of the competition that in the end your cost in dollars per miles is going to be substantially less.
I tried every other tire on the market and nothing can hold a candle to those two, and their performance won't be any better at the angles that a Breva 1100 can lean if you have the center stand still on

Dean, I've run Shinko's on my B100. Might be a cheap tar, but it holds up good nuff for me.

Haven't yet tried PR4 setup, but have been thru 2 sets of PR3, and got nearly 10,000 miles before replacing. I'll go with PR4 next change. Really like the handling of the 1200 Sport/PR3 combo.

Cheap to buy or Cheap per Mile? suspender snap
I put a set of Metzler Roadtech Interact Z8's on my Griso 8,500 miles ago and by the present wear I figure I'm going to get at least 10,000 miles out of them.
Sure they may cost $100 per set more butt by the time you add mount & balance (I take my wheels off and take them to the shop) the difference in cost becomes very small.
My view is biased though, I have to replace tires once a year.

I get more miles per dollar out of ME-880s than any other tire since Dunlop quit making the 404.
Any bike that an 880 fits, that what I use. Unfortunately, some of the big fat modern tires (coughcoughStelvioco ughcough) don't come from Metzeler ....

Shinko.
I have been running Shinko 009 on my B1100 since I took off the originals.
Rear changed: Front changed:
3,175 miles 3,175 miles new tires for a coast to coast trip
15,100 miles
27,200 miles 27,200 miles
42,000 miles
...and they handle better than I do....
Yep, Shinkos for me.
Flame away.....

Tex,
Thanks for the nod on the Shinko's. I checked out the reviews on them and ordered a set. Besides I don't ride like a SQUID, just need a good road tire.
