Hope you have been following Rokon Randy on Facebook about his trip from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. If anyone could make a trip like that, I knew that Randy could. Hell, he'll ride down to see me to go riding here in the beautiful piney woods of E. Texas.
He showed some of the KERA naysayers on this board that it could be done. My main concern was the low speed (tops 35) he'd be driving with the speed limit on some two lanes in Texas are 75.
Congrats for a Guzzi rider making this amazing ride on of all things.. a Rokon.

Well, I'm not on faceplant, twizzler or the like, but I had no doubt Randy would be successful in his endeavor.
CONGRATULATIONS RANDY! I hope the amount you raised exceeds your expectations.
Looking forward to seeing him and hearing all about the journey.

You don't have to be on Face Book (I'm not either) to read Randy's daily posts. Find his post and click on "Continue reading".
Congrats Randy!

I was sure he'd make it too, he's traveled "longer" than that before, if not so slow. Love to know his impressions of an all-day ride on the Rokon (he's not a short dude) and how he handled the fast traffic whooshing by.
I don't do Facebook either (not even pull it up, too much potentially infectious junk there) so I hope the epic travelogue can be extracted and shared soon ....
Good on 'im for doing all this for charity, too ...

Really?
Just like anyplace else, don't click the link if you have any suspicions...
I've been active on Facebook for six years and haven't had problem one.

I'm not saying I think problems there are common, but everything I hear among my family and friends and contacts regarding "Facebook" is all about stupidity and self-aggrandization and narcissism, so I choose not to be associated with it. Sort of like why I don't ever go in a WalMart - they're all about dirt and cigarette butts and people fighting over cheap Chinese junk. Matter of principle, if that still means anything these days.
Which means I may have to hear about Randy's exploits "second hand" unless his travelogues are summarized somewhere else ..... Won't be the first time and surely won't be the last!!

Lannis, you're not helping my WalMart stock at all !! Unlike you most the stuff we buy comes from WalMart. Maybe the clientele in your neck of the woods is different than the WMs I go into. I don't care where their products are made as long as the quality is good enough and the prices are right. All my vehicle oils come from WM. Even my prescriptions do. :boxing:
Faceplant.......I like that.
