Title: Yet another Craigslist Guzzi - 1984 650 SP
Post by: mjptexas on July 27, 2015, 03:37:31 PM
The link is below.  I don't know much about these bikes.  Looks pretty clean.  May be a fun toy.

Comments on the bike & price from this esteemed audience?

Looks pretty good, I just don't think the market bears over $2,500-2800 on these tho.... If it really tickles someone's fancy local (ie: wont have to pay shipping or transport) he may get $3k ??
I think you'd have to have an all-stock with good fairing all there and a bike in perfect condition to get over $3k for one.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not an SP without the fairing. Deduct 1 large..

As an owner of an SP without the fairing, I agree.

Weird pictures, though, unless the dude sitting on the bike is meant to go with the deal.

Pretty stupid to have a guy sitting on the bike for all the shots.

What is wrong with people?

Covering flaws? They are a fun little bike but yes the fairing is a big part of the bike and it's value. Be sure and ask about any plastic cracks.

Original colors were silver and red, and maybe green.  SP models had fairing and lowers.

The guy on the bike has tattoos. He's there so you know the bike was cared for by a motorcycle expert and is also cool. Duh.

(I have tattoos don't bother flaming me, well unless you hate them ha ha)

One like looks like this might go for over 3.2k

That's really pretty and would seem to be a bargain at $3,200 if there were one actually for sale like that one.   Red is worth more ....

These early 80's bikes have the same basic running gear as the current V7 models like the V7 Racer.  This is an amazingly long life for this same basic platform!

Yeah, I just scored a practically new baby beaver transmission to graft on the Aero Lario. Looks like it'll fit right up.

Thanks for the insight.  I'm betting the fairings are long gone so no way it will support a 'collector' price.  I'll see if its still out there in two weeks and maybe hand the guy 20 Benjamins and see if he'll sign over the title.
