Morning,
Can anyone identify the bolts/Allen screws that hold the ignition switch in place on an 2001 Jackal? Going home from work I must have lost the bolts and the switch dropped down. Didn't notice it until I stopped for fuel.
Addition, I see an M8 x 15 is the thread size, but its called a security bolt. It appears the hex breaks off when tightened. Is this so someone can't drop the switch and steal the bike? Can a regular M8 x 15 Allen head work?

That happened to me on a road trip back around 04 or 05 and yes I just grabbed whatever metric Allen head bolts that would fit.
In theory it leaves you open to a thief who takes the time to remove the headlight and unbolt the switch, but really, how would they know ahead of time that's even an option.

Yes and yes you can, use lock tight.

Even though the switch can be remover the thief would still need a key.
That is unless he unscrewed the two Phillips screws and took the switch of the lock.
The older Guzzis would be so easy to steal it's not even funny.

Regular M8x1.25x15 worked for the V7C. Had to remove the top headstock to attack the "security bolt" to remove it's remnants. Sounds like the Jackal is the same.
