Post by: rastoga on July 30, 2015, 12:17:18 AM
After a long backorder, my Ikons were shipped today.  Any advice on removal and installation?

I just did this job.  Really not much to it.  I loosened the bolts on the rt. muffler to get a little extra wiggle room on the bottom.  20 minute job.

And check which side the damper adjustments are on. I put mine on facing inwards :(

Only problem I had was getting the top right off. It was 'painted on'. I actually had to use a puller. Other than that, use LocTite on the bolts. As Dusty said, they don't have to be super tight, but two of mine were so loose when new that I actually noticed them ready to fall out on my ride home from buying it. Luckily I stopped for a coffee about 20 km from the dealer, and had the foresight to have brought my trusty MotionPro multitool thingie with me. I suppose the assemblers thought that painting the stubs and installing the shocks before the paint dried would be enough. Turns out they were right ;-)
