Gentlemen, this stately ride will provide us with an opportunity to parade our vintage, cafe, bobbed, and unique motorcycles, and demonstrate our sense of understated style. If you are planning on attending, dust off your posh frocks, tune your vintage bike, and lets bring a little class and levity to Central PA.
The date has been set (Sept. 27, 2015), the route and other details are in the works. We're looking at a 3ish hour tour with re-grouping points and a final stop for everyone to meet and socialize over the day's ride and our machines.

I have led the DC ride for 3 years. It is a special event. One day to declare, "we are not dirtbags"...

I've always thought these looked fun but haven't gotten around to participating.

This will be my first one. I was going to do Philly last year but it didn't happen. I contacted them about hosting one in Central PA. and here we are. Now if I can just get a few Guzzi riders to sign up.....
-
I wanted to register and ride here in Houston but we are traveling that day.
Looking for someone in Houston, or at least TEXAS to sponsor though. PM me if riding.

Sunday of the MD/DC Guzzi Rally. Will be busy helping pack up, otherwise I'd ride up.
-
I signed up for the ride in LA and donated $50.
-
Wax up your mustache and fire up your bike, we're only four weeks out!
To sign up go to https://www.gentlemansride.com/ . The Central Pennsylvania ride is listed on "The Rides" page under Hershey - Harrisburg. See you there!
Can't make it? Here is a link if anyone would like to Sponsor a fellow Guzzisti.

I've tried sponsoring Tip Paul but every time I get to the "payment options" - it doesn't proceed any further. I'll wait a few more days to try again. Can I be missing something? - THAT is a definite possibility.
-
I don't quite get the thing. What is the point? What are they trying to accomplish?

Raises money for prostrate cancer research!

Plan on sponsoring a local TEXAS rider...so far can't find a Guzzi though...

It all goes to the same place. If you can't find any Guzzitsi to sponsor in Texas there are some in Pennsylvania.....

There are a few people doing that.
-
Less than 48 hours until the start of the ride, looking forward to having a good time and meeting some new brothers in arms (motorcycles).

24 hours? Our ride SUnday afternoon?
-
Correction made, thanks LowRyter. :embarassed:
-
It looks like rain for Sunday afternoon.
Is it too late to move it up to tomorrow?
-
Right now the Weather Channel is showing showers after 3pm for Harrisburg. If we depart at 9:45am as planned we should be back to LBC by noon for some socializing, bike admiring and telling of lies. From there everyone can decide how long they want to stay based on their time to ride home vs. the weather. I'll be watching the weather forecast for any changes that would necessitate the rain date of Oct. 4th.
-
The forecast looks to be improving; lower % chance of rain, and not until evening.
-
Registered and paid.
Dusted the bowtie and buffed black shoes.
I'm ready, see Ya guys tomorrow morning.

Did the ride in Cedar Rapids Ia. 80 today, there were 3 Guzzi's in attendance, a 95 sport I think, a 06 Griso, and I rode the wife's 10 V7C, does that make it a rally, LOL. Triumph made up most of us, 27 bikes altogether.
-
Triumph and Honda (old fours) were the best represented in Indianapolis. Not an HD in the lot.
Where's Mario?

The Central Pennsylvania ride (Hershey-Harrisburg) was a success. We had about 20 riders and raised $3,000.

Nice turnout for the Harrisburg ride; lot's of nice bikes there. I wish I could've made it.
-
video of a buck strike
http://gfycat.com/VeneratedDevotedHummingbird
-
Wow! Looks like the fellow was accelerating and tried to turn left at the last moment, but didn't lean. Dang bucks. Almost looked like the buck was trying to shoot the gap, just mistimed it a little cause the bikes were accelerating, plus the pavement is slippery to buck feet, LOL.
I have to say the buck was in the wide open for a long time, should have seen him, brake brake brake!!

Come on, you got all that from the video? Happens too fast.
PS - Who's the guy with the glasses, rubber nose and mustache on the green Kawa?
-
Well, the rider was blind at first as the rider to his left was blocking his view, but as he accelerated past that rider, he had a clear view. But, yeah it is much easier to see in slow motion. Being from Louisiana, I try to watch all the time for deer, they are there.
