So will be looking into a potential new job in North Carolina that would require relocating. It's in Concord. Looking for a good area to live near there. Looking online there is a bunch of conflicting information as to how decent the areas are. Any input you have would be appreciated.

It's not like you are in risk of being in the ghetto there... but deff not a good place to live in NC.. Concord would be the bottom of the list. If you love traffic, heat, and suburban sprawl tho, you might like it. No idea where you fall politically but the area is a stout mix of redneck natives and transplants from up north with enough money to commute into Charlotte from the safety of their gated suburbs.
If you work in Concord, I guess it might be tolerable.. at least the winters are mild. Where are you now?
If the idea is to live in Concord and commute to Charlotte area, no thank-you, I'd sooner jump off a cliff.

I'm in Mass right now. Talking serious move. I'd rather commute in.

if I was going to commute in, I'd move west or south of Charlotte.... East of Charlotte and north is a damn mess. Taxes, gas, etc are a lot lower in SC as well.
Do you commute by car now? Your options for public transpo are very limited in CLT

When I moved to just south of Charlotte in 1988 the locals told me I'd get used to the summers (right after they asked me if I'd found a "church home" yet) - still haven't acclimated to either. Just retired and moving north ASAP.
You ready to live in a RED state?

Will be car commuting....and yes I can use a break from the bluetards

"bluetards"?
Well, you should fit right in. Good luck.
