I have what I think is a Thomaselli throttle cover on my 71 Ambo. It is loose and appears to tighten with a set screw but when I tighten it, it does not help. There is also a nut on it that the screw goes through.....can anyone tell me how to tighten it....do I need to tighten the screw first and then the nut? The cover moves with the cables until they hit the brake lever. Thank you for all advice.

I'm guessing that you have the 2C throttle with two cables coming out of it? If so, you first tighten the screws holding the two halves together, then tighten the set screw that bites into the handlebar and secures it into place. You can clearly see the the set screw in this photo.

The screw with the nut around it is to set the throttle return stop. The one with the spring is your preload (cruise control). The tiny allen head is the set screw Charlie is discussing.
