Title: A new V4 Norton?
Post by: pyoungbl on August 06, 2015, 03:38:09 PM
For those of us who also harbor a love for Nortons:

Pretty firm rumors of future Norton development...it must be serious because the British government has given them a substantial loan to get the project rolling.

It's not a Norton if you can't see the engine.

They may be pictures but they are not photographs and it is not a motorcycle.

The bike will probably not look anything like the pic. That is a design drawing, they probably have plenty of them, all different. They were careful not to say it was THE design so its just one of probably hundreds of different designs.

I was just talking to a salesperson at a local dealership the other day about this. He showed me an article stating Norton is currently using an Aprilia V-4 engine as a test bed to get the frame geometry and suspension sorted out.  Should be an interesting ride.

I would much rather get the Aprilia RSV4.. have you seen how compact that beast is?

Lol

Well, I haven't decided to get anything yet!

With a possible exception for the Motus, I am not partial to 4-cylinder bikes, though. No disrespect to Norton or the folks who like the drawings of the V-4 but I would 10-times prefer the 961 Norton twin over the V-4. The V-4 shown looks too japanesey to me, nothing special, all plastic.
