1984. At the time I had a Laverda SF2 that was a maintenance nightmare. Traded it in against a T project and have been married to it ever since.

I must have been first after thread modded to a poll to vote as I am 100% of the count.

I got into the 1991 - 2000 category just under the wire, too, as I returned to riding in August 2000 after a break -- with a few sneak bursts in between -- of over 30 years!

In 2011, I bought a leftover 2007 Breva 1100. That was my first and so far, only Moto Guzzi. Unless things change at Moto Guzzi, it will probably be my last new Moto Guzzi purchase.

98, when I first bought the Centauro. Haven't looked back. Since then, I've had every version of the big and small block, 2V and 4V until the latest new 4Vs. From the V700 to the Norge. Liked every one of them. It's the engine to me. The latest.. the Aero engine is just a hoot to operate. I'm looking forward to all the rumors of a new mid or even smaller Guzzi this fall. If it's not a cruiser  I'll have one.

2007.

I went looking for a bike for my youngest son, and wound up at the local Hyosung dealer, who also happened to be a Guzzi dealer.  Fell in lust with a Breva, took it for a ride, and sold the Honda and bought the Breva.  Now there are three Guzzis in the garage, and son is riding a V65SP.

I had minibikes, a little 125cc dirt bike, and rode my dad's Harleys as a teen.  I didn't ride much besides the Harleys as an adult.

I was borrowing my dad's Road King a few times per summer and toying with some longer trips when my former boss opened a BMW/KTM/Husky dealership. I got the bug again and started looking at my own d/s bike...

He took in a 2010 V7 classic on consignment and I loved it.  Took me a few days of research to decide I wanted it, but I couldn't test ride it, aa I was lacking any MC endorsement on my license.  I was dead set and ready to bite on this Husky 630 but the Guzzi changed my entire mindset.

I told Tom I loved the bike but needed a couple days to think on it.  I told him not to 'hold' it or anything, I didn't want to cost him a potential sale....  By the next day I decided I wanted it after all and went to the bank to get financing...  Sitting in the office, I call the dealership & ask for the VIN to get some numbers at my Credit Union.. Sure enough the V7 had sold in the last 20minutes! Only sat on the floor for 1 day!

That broke me of the Husky and I started researching Guzzi

Found my v65 for about $2,500 on ebay and bought it sight unseen
Love the little bike but it has been a bitch to sort out... took me almost 2 years to get it 'perfect'

while the v65 was broken down once, I got pissed off and bought a Breva 1100...  By that time I was hooked.

Been riding year-round for over 2 years now, and the v65 is humming, the Breva is always a treat, and I've got a Robin to play around with plus a '71 Ambo barn find just waiting for the winter project season to start.

I'm not really interested in any other makes... I do look at non-guzzi stuff occasionally but I am deff more of a 'Guzzi Rider' than a 'Motorcyclist'

I started in 2000 when I traded a perfectly good running 92 Nighthawk for a 1970 Ambassador. Rode for a couple years before purchasing a 2002 Cali Stone new in 2003. Sold the Ambassador a couple years ago but still have the Stone.

In the summer of 1977, I traded my first bike, a 1972 Norton, even up for a 1973 V7 Sport. I had no idea what a Moto Guzzi was but, I did know it was smoother and more comfortable that the Norton. I rode a BMW from 1980 to 1983 when I bought a new Le Mans III. I was Guzzi-less from 1985 to 1989. That's the year I bought the T3 sidecar rig that became my current EML rig.

April 2010.  Had purchased left-over 2008 1200 Sport from Eddie's in Swanzey, NH.  Rode her home to Ohio, made a few ergonomic changes, added center stand and HB 30 liter Junior bags, and have enjoyed this bike for the past 58,500 miles.  In 2012, I picked up a lovely Griso 8vSE  from Riders Hill, and rode her back to NE Ohio after spending a few days riding some of Georgia's nicest roads.

Bought my Griso in 2007. WI DMV didn't even have a Griso in their database, and they had to add it when I titled it. Obviously, I had the first Griso in WI. Since then, I've had/have a V50 II, V7C, V11S and V11 Cafe Sport. Life is good.

First time at the controls of a motorbike? April 1 1963.
Apparently had a run of bad taste between then and now.

I got my motorcycle license in '91 or '92 by attending the MSF course but didn't get my first motorcycle until 1994. I've owned four total, still have three of them.

1993 Ducati 900SS - Spring of 1994 (new)
1996 Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 - Spring of 1997 (new)
2002 HD FXSTB - Spring of 2002 (new)
1993 Moto Guzzi Daytona - Spring of 2013 (used)

Got my first Moto Guzzi, a V11 Scura, at MotoGP in San Diego late last year. Totally obsessed. Had to get a red V11 LeMans to keep it company...

Big, sporting twins have always been my favorite bikes (e.g. Ducati, BMW, KTM) - but the Guzzi has SOUL.

A Stelvio seems like a good idea.

Aug 14th, 1971. My 5th wife got mad because I could remember when I bought my first Guzzi but couldn't remember her birthday.

I got looking around the barn, shop, carport, under tarps and the front porch and counted 14 Guzzis. Still have the first one,a 1971 Ambassador with way over 200K on it.

1999

After several years of walking by Guzzis in my BMW dealer's showroom, I decided I better try one.  Bought a '75 T3 (still have it).  That led to an '01 Cal EV, and '73 Eldo.  Had possession of 90% of an SP for a short time before I passed the project on to someone else.

Sold the EV but still have the T3 and Eldo (barely more than a project, but roadworthy).

Best,

Carlo

1986,

I was working for a photographer in London at the time, riding mainly jap stuff.  His studio bike was a T3 Cali.  Never in a million years would I of bought or even thought of buying a Cali or any other Guzzi for that matter, but I used his for running errands around town and it quickly got under my skin.

Looked around and found a completely shagged T3, that at least I could afford.  Spent the same again on it and over a few months rebuilt it.  Was back on the Road for summer 1987.

Rode it regularly till Millenium eve, when bike was shortened by a 'Sorry Mate - didn't see you'.  99% repaired it in a couple of months, despite re-building a couple of trials bikes, I never got it back on the road till 2014.

It's kinda tired now and a little bumped around the edges, but back on the road now and I am lovin it.

Bought a new black Jackal spring 2000 rode it for 18mos. and sold it. Didn't learn much about Guzzi during that time, liked the Jackal but
didn't love it. Retired June 2008 w/time to travel by motorcycle, rode my Buell XB9 to Milwaukee area for my first motorcycle camping rally but really was the old guy in that group, then Buell crashed. I was looking for a distance traveler early 2010 thinking maybe Concours or S2T Buell when this Moto Guzzi California III showed-up on Craig's only 10 miles away. Bought it fairly, tires, fork seals, wheel bearings and clean-up later, took off for the national in John Day, met a great group of people and haven't looked back. Wish I could afford to attend more events because I enjoy the ride and the people well met. The Cal III has tested my patience this season but I haven't given-up on it and am looking for many more miles and smiles.....Steve
