Title: for the watch fans out there
Post by: boatdetective on August 09, 2015, 08:13:08 PM
i just saw tis on Eddie Platt's site, Time factors. Pretty neat looking piece that is an homage to old Smitths motorcycle gauges.

It's powered by the prosaic, yet rugged ETA 2836. Price is around $700- which is pretty resonable for a very low production mechanical piece.

Nice...but, its diameter is about 20mm too small for it to be a true tribute to the iconic Smith's Speedometer  (http://wildguzzi.com/forum/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

You are a bad person.  Now I am thinking about watches again!  I've been relying on my old Orient automatic for so long, but suddnely I'm seeing other things!  Mind virus.

Sometimes I wish I wore a watch.  Have a couple of nice ones.  I just can't stand anything on my wrists.
