Title: '03 Breva Front Forks. Would like To Modify.
Post by: Muzz on August 14, 2015, 05:05:43 AM
My old Matchy had a drain hole at the bottom of each fork slider. Made it real easy to drain the oil out of the forks.

Would any one know if the alloy is thick enough on the Marzocchi's to allow for a hole to be drilled and tapped down at the bottom so the same oil drain procedure could be used.  A helluva lot easier than taking everything to bits simply to get the oil out.

On the yahoo group https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MG_750/info (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MG_750/info) we churned that issue over a couple years ago.  How to make changing the fork oil less of a chore.

We explored a lot of options.  Some a little crazy, like using some internal retaining bolts as a path for the oil to escape.

In the end, we need a pair of donor forks for experimentation.  Don't you think?

That would be really great if a donor set was available, however, I have not seen too many Breva's wrecked out here.  Did not really want to experiment on my own ones without having someone who has been down that road before.
