Title: Oklahoma Adventure Trail ...
Post by: Lannis on August 15, 2015, 07:49:28 AM
This month's RoadRunner mag featured ride is the Oklahoma Adventure Trail, which apparently ranges from easy dirt roads to bottomless mud and rocky technical sections.

Looks like it covers most of Oklahoma east of Oklahoma City.   A lot of it goes along the Texas and Arkansas borders (well sort of, it's very crooked).

Seems like nice country.   Anyone ever ridden the trail, or part of it?

I have been on some short stretches around Heavener and Stillwell , and a few other locations . It will pop up out of nowhere and surprise you  Nice to see something positive about OK . Thought it funny when they referred to "Meers Burgers" as a location in the official web page .

I've known guys that have taken dirt all the way to Utah and still were able to sped the nights in motels along the way.  I think the trail has been expanded from Tennessee to Utah with just a few miles of pavement.

Sounds like you might be referring to the "TransAmerica Trail".   This one is an Oklahoma only one ... same sort of thing, though ...

I'm missing the joke. "Meers Burgers" a/k/a "The Meers Store" is an actual place.

The official site refers to "Meers Burgers" as a place instead of a burger

I guess the joke is on me. I've referred to the place as Meers Burgers for years.

The name of the town is Meers , the burgers are merely something sold in the restaurant .LOL .
