Title: Worn Throttle Body Linkage on 09 V7Classic

I have discovered slop in one of the pivot arm linkages on the rod that connects the two throttle bodies on my V7c.

The rod #5 has two end linkages, not available separately, and one of mine has almost 1/8" of play in the pivot. The other side pivot is very good (no play at all). Rod Part Number is GU32530509.

Using my digital vacuum balancer, it has gotten harder to get consistent test results and the last tuneup session made the vibration a bit worse not better. I think the sloppiness in the linkage is making it hard to have my throttle units synced properly and I am going to change the worn pivot and retune the bike again.

Anyone have any info on a suitable replacement? The rod assembly, with the pivots, is very expensive. I have seen several sizes of similar pivots available - anyone know what size fits best?

If I have to, I can fabricate a new rod out of stainless and even do left and right hand threads on the ends if needed.

Do you think a single body and ecu be retrofitted to the two body engine? (without going into major alterations?)

I think an all metal one would work better than the clip on plastic type.

Come to think of it a good source for gear linkages
Unfortunately I don't see metric.

If you make one for yourself, be sure to make extras. I'm sure many others will need it also.

That is kinda what I am looking for. I am going to measure the rod length and measure the thread size of the unit on the bike, and see if some of the linkage kits for cars, go karts or r/c hobbies will fit.

I found these for autos.

And there are other kits that may be adapted.

But these ends are good enough.

There's a variety of rod ends made for Webber carbs - I picked up one version to replace the gear linkage on the V7 C. In my search for these, I came across a multitude of other rod ends that could be suitable.

Thanks for the heads up. Another thing to check while I've got the clutch out.

*I don't know if they are the same* but Todd at MPH (RIP) had a Mercedes part that was screw on for the el cheapo plastic crap on the Centauro. They just might be the same.. Guzzi being Guzzi and all. Oh, forgot, cheap. (Guzzi content)
