Title: Thank you
Post by: flip on August 18, 2015, 08:17:05 PM
I managed to screw up both knees a couple of months ago. It took a few doctor's visits before MRIs were finally approved. Meniscus tears in both knees. Surgery on the left knee was last week and the rignt knee surgery should be in 5-6 weeks. That will make 5 surgeries I will have had since March 2014.

This has severely limited my riding time during the last year and a half or so. I recently realized that I had only done a few hundred miles during that time. Spending time on here has helped me keep my sanity.

I hope this doesn't sound like a "poor me" thread. It isn't  meant that way. I will get somewhat better and I will be riding again. I realize that there are others here worse off than me and are looking at health issues that won't be improving for them.

I just wanted y'all to know where I was coming from and that you guys have really helped me out by just being yourselves. So, thank you!

Damn, was that pain pills or estrogen in that bottle...

This is an internet forum, so we are necessarily grouchy, thoughtless, pedantic, and self-absorbed. But it is a community after all.
And hey, in a couple of years you won't even remember the discomfort and hassles of 2015. Get well soon.

Flip,

Healing prayers for your knees....be good and do the therapy and exercises and such, then ride again!

Flip,

I've been there with my health issues over the past several years. Just about gave up riding. Now I'm fine and have discovered Moto Guzzi's and back riding full time on my other bikes as well. As others have said hang in there and in no time you will be riding and the memory of the bad times will fade.
