Title: It's sound not noise
Post by: slowmover on August 25, 2015, 10:31:53 AM
Don't know if I'm imagining it or not but there seems to be be a louder exhaust popping sound on deceleration on my 2013 V7 Stone. The exhaust seems louder too. It's got 6k miles and changing the plugs didn't help.Maybe it's my old brain.

Slow riding will make the exhaust quieter as the carbon layer builds up on the baffles.

A good run will always make my bike sound noticeably louder.

I sure miss those de-coking sessions!

Your earplugs need replacing.

Check your exhaust clamps.  If you've developed a leak, you'll get popping on decel.

As we get older, hearing can suffer but not only with hearing sounds but in having less tolerance for them. What was quiet can seem louder.
