Title: Clutch Not Disengaging - Solved
Post by: geodoc on August 26, 2015, 12:49:18 AM
Finally got the clutch apart on my 1000SP engined Loop to see what was causing the disengagement problem from a week ago. I was gob-smacked to see this when I pulled the plates out. The bolt head was apparently rattling around and would sometimes jam one side of the pressure plate & prevent disengagement. Never seen this happen before.

All the bolts were installed new from MG Cycle & torqued with a Snap-On digital torque wrench.

I'll be replacing them all & hoping that they last a bit longer.

Did bolt George. Rare but it happens. PITA that it happened deep inside.

Kinda strange. I assume poorly heat treated or somesuch. Hope the replacements are better.
