I found this absurd photo, but note the tool bag mounted on the passenger grab rail. I'd like to do something similar, as it would save me from having to use a tank bag a lot of the time. Has anyone done this? Any comments on the idea (good or bad)? Mounting suggestions?

In an attempt to quantify the alleged absurdness of the image, I ran it through Tineye, but got no hits.

Imagine she's got some super glue in there for when she needs to fix those heels!
Other than the inappropriate footwear like the picture, like the toolbag

If you want a 'Tool Roll' that isn't actually a bad place to hang it. I'd use some form of modern, synthetic, fabric rather than leather but I'd also not expect to need tools on a modern motorbike so I can only imagine that this young lady has a large collection of cosmetic accessories or an entertaining sex aid she carries around in it?
Alternatively it could just be there to look 'Cool', but perhaps one ought to think of other peoples' perceptions before hitching your horse, (Ah-Hem.) to any particular stylistic bandwagon.

I believe that's Kiera Knightly, shooting a perfume commercial where she "rides" a Ducati.

It's definitely the Kiera Knightly look, maybe with tool bag this could be a Carling Ad. If Carling did.... Road side assistance ;)

Well, given the V7s ridiculously small tray for its took kit, I can see the need for a place to store a basic tool kit. Yes, a modern bike probably won't need anything like we used to carry for Brit bikes in the '60s but you still need a kit to snug up fastners, check air pressure, replace a light bulb, or patch a flat. Even something as basic as adjusting the mirrors requires a tool that you won't find in the kit that came with the bike. Now, those spike heels...well, that's another issue.

Yes, definitely a make-up kit, surely that rider wouldn't know how to use any tools.
Without seeing their features, I'm not sure the bag is big enough.

Calling an Illegal Alien an "Undocumented Immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "Unlicensed Pharmacist."
Or like calling a non-helmet wearer a mobile organ donor.

Without some kind of bottom strut, it looks like the bag would rub on the spring. A decent idea for day rides; a few extra tools & space for some other "essentials" would be a comfort.
