Title: Georgia Campout, September 25, 26 & 27
Post by: Wayne Orwig on August 31, 2015, 08:36:34 PM
Anyone going to the North Georgia Moto Guzzi campout in Suches Georgia?

Suches is located about 12 miles north of Dahlonega along route 60.
This is at Two Wheels of Suches. They have a few rooms available in the lodge, and have a number of cabins.
Contact them at; 706-973-1671 or http://twowheelsofsuches.com/ to reserve a room.

I should be there too. Trying to talk Dealership I work at into bringing up some Demo's.

Also I noticed the GA BMW Club is having their rally there same time.

Update:   Demo's will be there - Cali 14 Eldo & V7 Stone

If there are demos, I'll be riding up for sure to try out a V7.  All my bikes have been V-twins...but only Japanese.  Time to try a V facing the other way.  :)

Steve has confirmed that they should have a California 1400 and a V7 there from Moto Guzzi Marietta.
European Motorsports in Dahlonega also has a couple of demo bikes. I would call them ahead of time to make arrangements.

So it should be easy to get a ride on a V that is done right.

As the chief meteorologist of the Hog Mountain weather station....  you know what I meant.

Oh there will be some peach eau de vie to sample as I've got several experiments going right now  :thumb:

I want to meet Lannis

Well, I hope you get to do that down the road, but don't think it'll be at Suches this year, as I think he'll be at the Md./D.C. rally that (i.e., this) weekend.

Bill

[Edited cuz I kant spel. ]

Well, there was weather. 'Someone' even did the 'chromium cruiser' mode.

But we still got in a ride. Here we are enjoying the view from the mountain tops.   :weiner:

There was a large BMW group at the campground also. Some of them didn't venture out in the weather, but had prepaid for steaks. There were a lot of extra steak dinners that we got.      So now I have to be more Beemer friendly.  :cheesy:

Let's see, rained all the way up there (Friday), rained on the ride (Saturday), and rained all the way home (Sunday).

I think I made the right call.

Had a good time in spite of the rain. Fortunate to have a sunny ride home. The clouds moved in just in time for the lunar eclipse.

Nick, hope you're feeling better for the ride to Pipestem.

How many showed up?

I wanted to go since I bought my Stelvio the week before at Riders Hill but I had the bike apart to install the PCv & AT and flashed ECU from Todd as well as a passel of other farkles I bought.  It is a sickness I tell you   :thumb:

Slabbed it back. We made it up to Winchester VA on Sunday, rained most of the way up. Got home at 7:30 this morning.
Bruce, I'm glad you had a sunny ride home.......That's because the clouds followed us to Jersey .
George, that "peach eau de vie" of yours was very good. Keep-up the good work.
It was nice to see everybody again. Rain or shine....had a great time!
