Title: V7 Special tire question
Post by: vntgmx on September 02, 2015, 03:18:18 PM
Looking to add some on/off road tires from a 50/50 to a 70/30 to my '14 V7 Special. Normally I'd go with TKC80s as they work great in the loose sand & are excellent on the road but of course the 18"front is presenting a challenge.
Has anyone run or found a front specific dual purpose to fit their V7?
I'm looking and having a hard time finding anything for the stock front. Rear is no sweat but the front is proving difficult.

I think you'll find that a lot of these V7 customs you're seeing with dirt tires on the front are running a rear tire in the front.

Indeed & I can do that with the TKC80s so we shall see.

Ok the stock front is a 100/90-18 & I can get Scout K60 front in 120/80-18 which this metric sizing confuses the heck out of me. So can anyone tell me what I'm looking at in difference?
If that's no good I can go with a 4:00x18 rear that they offer that I know crosses over to the stock front size

 The difference will be 20 millimeters , pretty substantial . The 4.00 will translate to about a 110 . The metric sizing is simple ,
100 = 100 MMs , the 80 is aspect ratio . IE , sidewall represents 80 % of the tire width .

Pirelli Scorpion Trail
100/90 - 18 M/C 56P TL

Have a pair sitting in my shop waiting for the BT45's to wear out.
Haven't ridden on any so can't offer a rider opinion yet.
