Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram and a parts list for a 1998 Bassa? The 1998 had the P8 ECU with a PF3 tps.

Greg doesn't have it on his website. He has the later model and only the California Special. Not the same.

Odd. The Bassa didn't arrive until 1999 and I think it already had the upgraded, smaller cpu. I have a DVD with the parts diagram. What are you after? Yes, you can download the wire plans as shown above, but there are lots of subtle variations around this time.

I have the 1998 EV. It does not exactly match any wire plan in print. Part of it matches the 1998-EV plan and part of it matches the 1997 1100-i plan. You'll just have to sort through.

Patrick, It's a 1998 Bassa with a build date of 1-1998 on the fork tag. It is not the same as the 1999 and later. Do a google search and you can clearly see the difference. There are pictures all over. There is one being parted out on EBAY. They are 1998.
As for the instruction books, etc, is there any written material from Guzzi that uses the word Bassa? Everything I can find says California. (ie: stone, special, aluminum, etc.

Well. That's news to me. Had no idea there were Bassa's with P8 CPU's.
I suspect it would be very close to the 98 EV for wiring and for parts with the exception of bodywork and a few other bits.

Thanks for all of the info on the Bassa. The one I bought did not have the side covers but had one of the special brackets those covers require. Also, the tail light had been changed to an EV light. The po sold off most of the good stuff after the wiring harness shorted out and burned. I'll just make it an EV 1100 and be done with it.

That's OK, I mean no offense.. we all know the factory did some odd things.. and nothing wrong with your bike whatever it is.. do you have tubeless rims? that's the best advantage the EV and Bassa had over the Jackal and Big Twin Stone..

The photo matches the one on page 274 of Mario Colombo's Moto Guzzi, The complete history from 1921. He does not use the term "Bassa" but calls it the California Special, starting with 1998 model year..

Thanks for all of the info on the Bassa.....I'll just make it an EV 1100 and be done with it.
In addition to the sidecovers, the rear fender is quite different. The wiring harness will take some fiddling, but it really isn't too bad. I had to replace one on a Jackal.

To prevent it burning out again add a 40 Amp in-line fuse where the ignition switch feed leaves the battery, every Guzzi should have one.
It will only blow if there is a short.
What parts do you need?
The sidecovers look like quite a different shape from an EV
