Hello all,
Looking at getting a cover for new (to me) cali. Prices on ebay are all over the map. Looking for some recommendations. One concern would be a cover that would not melt if coming in contact with hot engine, headers, mufflers, and would have some tie downs so cover would not sail away in the wind. Any recommendations?

Be careful with covers-they trap moisture and can aid in corrosion. If you keep the bike in a garage just use an old bedsheet. If you store it outside, try Menards. I bought a decent one there to take with me on trips for $30 a while back.

First recommendation is to let the bike cool before putting any cover on it.
Then DOWCO for the cover. It's heavy, lined at the windscreen, elastic hem, vented, grommets, etc. It's too big to haul along, but just right when you get home.

The BMW shops here sell a very good cover made by Wunderlich, but it ain't cheap.

:1: I agree with the bed sheet. Been using them on all my bikes. They don't melt and they don't trap moisture and if your wife ain't looking you can get one for free :thewife:
