Title: OT. New bike hauler
Post by: sidecarnutz on September 10, 2015, 08:09:04 PM
Traded my '09 E350 van in today on a new/leftover/demo 2014 Ram 1500 Promaster hightop.

This thing is a man cave on wheels! I may even be able to get a whole sidecar rig into it. As it is it'll swallow a bike and a garage full of camping gear with ease.

Looking forward to some trips this Fall!

V6 with 6 speed auto trans. Standard drivetrain.

I think it is funny that so many people have reacted with "Wow! That is butt ugly and I would never own one, but now you can carry this for me!". ;-)

Am I the only geek who thinks vans are cool?

Probably not; but then, I've never owned one.    And never have had a hankering or need for one (whatever "need" means; I know what "hankering" means!).

But folks like yourself and our Testarossa seem to get a lot of pleasure out of having one and doing things with it, selecting interiors and that sort of thing, like a rolling man-cave.

Sounds like fun!

This one is a different vehicle than the Mercedes.  I believe the new Ram is FWD and has a little more room in it.

White vans are derigueur for survivalists.  When the apocalypse happens all you need to do is print up some contractor or utility logo's and slap em on the doors, don your hardhat and you will get right through any police blockade.
