Title: Anyone want to try a single lambda Stelvio map?
Post by: Xlratr on September 11, 2015, 03:28:49 PM
After rollerising my 2 lambda Stelvio, I've been logging and adjusting the mapping to fit. Even if I do say so myself, I think it runs very strong!. :-). If anyone wants to try it they're welcome.

Then I started thinking it might be fun to take those values and integrate them into a single lambda framework. (The single Lambda map is set up a bit differently, and some of the tables have a different logic, but there are very many reference points in the various tables on which to base the retro fitting). It started out as a kind of academic exercise, but now I have a full single lambda map, but no bike to test it on. I think it's logically very solid, so if anybody with Guzzidiag experience wants to try it, just let me know. Send me a PM (with your emaill).

Looks like everyone with a single lambda Stelvio has stuck it on the Bay of Fleas because it's got flat tappets....    :boozing:

I do have the single sensor version with flat tappets and have a roller kit coming but I have the full power commander setup with autotune. It ran like a hot pig when I got the bike and know it runs as well as it possibly could. I am really not sure what to expect in as to how different the engine will run when converted or if the autotune will be enough to over come the difference which I doubt since it just makes fine adjustments and is not designed to work miracles. I imagine that some change will need to be made at the base level. Your map may be a good starting point.

Also, I have no intention of selling my 8v as it has supplied many miles of smiles and has never left me stranded. I lived through the Hydro fiasco and still have that one too. It's rock solid. At least Guzzi provides the means to make things right.

I've never used a PC/AT setup, but from what I understand, and if it works as claimed, it should easily be able to compensate for the differences required in mapping after a roller conversion. I think the problem with the single lambda model though, is that even the Auto Tune is blind to what's happening on the right cylinder. And I don't t think the factory delta mapping is all that great.
Plus, the PC/AT doesn't have any influence on ignition.

My 09 has been rollerized. I'll try your map!

Great! Doug, let me have a PM with your email and I'll send it to you.

PS: just want to restate, it's completely untested and just built on working backwards from known values. It should work, but you'll be the first to know!  :thumb:
