Title: Exhaust Headers, Square Fin vs Round Fin
Post by: Arvo on September 14, 2015, 10:56:12 PM
New to the group.  Certainly appears there are many here with great experience!
Looking for exhaust options for an 850-T.   Have a line on a complete stock system from a LeMans 1000.  Do the exhaust ports from later 2-valve twins (square fin) have the same spacing and angle as ports from a round-head?  Know that the footpegs and foot controls will need modification, but if the ports have same geometry, it may be a good candidate.

I have a full system from a MkIV Le Mans on my Convert so I would guess it will work fine on an 850T but being completely honest I'm well out of practice with the ins and outs of older machines as my business nowadays is built around the newer bikes.

Guzziology, which contains micro-detailed lists of part variations between models, is silent on the issue of header pipes for the big twins -- which strongly suggests they're identical.
