Title: Vintage Dealer Sign - Tonti Era (a nice one)
Post by: Groover on September 18, 2015, 08:53:34 AM
There is one on Craigslist in Urbana Ohio. It looks to me like maybe an early 80's Tonti era sign. I've communicated with the seller and seems all legit. His lowest is still too high for me to just have this in my garage. Might be a great item if you have a nice spot for it or have some sort of business where you can showcase it a little better and justify the expense.

I'm not affiliated with the seller, and don't even know the guy's name. We've only texted back and forth a few times, and as much as I would love to have this lighting up my garage, I'm going to pass on it. I hope someone here grabs it and makes good use out it. I have not seen the item in person.

Good luck - the seller doesn't appear to ship, so if you are far you may want to figure out some sort of freight service to get this to you.

I have one of those but it's been 'single sided'. Looks nice.

Lighted, two sided sign in good condition like that, wouldn't surprise me if someone paid his price and picked it up.   I've done sillier things.

You'd think they'd be as common as dirt, given the number of Guzzi dealers that go out of business .... !

Looks authentic compared to this real deal.

I have spent $$ on stupider things.    If shipping wasn't going to double the cost I would give him a call.

I have the new eagle version.  Good price for me.  The dealer took it down and loaded in my truck for free.  Hanging in the garage with pride.

How much would you spend on a full size replica, on heavy parchment paper, of the Map of the Universe from "Time Bandits"?

Probably not as much as I spent.   It was useful, though; I framed it and hung it in my office and it was a good test to see who else had a sense of humor like mine.   Not many, I can tell you.

I got this one from Robertos' widow a couple years ago.

I don't think that's a bad price at all and I think he'll find the right buyer in time. The biggest drawback is the shipping costs.
