A super moon tonight (14% larger than usual), followed by a full lunar eclipse that starts about an hour after moonrise. Enjoy!

Will we need to look at it through a lense to protect our retina?
-
Might be to cloudy here, I hope it clears up.

Might be time for a merge Rocker

110% chance of rain here all day, all night, and maybe for the rest of the year.
-
Under way now . . . .

Might be time for a merge Rocker

I'll merge you, Dusty!

lunatics like myself will be disappointed if it is covered by clouds as usual.
I just checked. Hawaii is prohibited from viewing the eclipse this time.
We get to see the supermoon if it is not obscured by rain or clouds but we are prohibited from seeing the eclipse tonight.

I'll merge you, Dusty!

You aren't my type Ken
This is pretty cool :thumb:

It hasn't rained here for 6 mo. Well almost never, of course tonight.....
-
Saw a wink of the last limb, then the clouds rolled in. Half an hour later, a one-minute teaser of the blood moon.

We got lucky with the clouds, they parted often enough and kind enough.
Baby girl was too scared and wanted to go back to bed though.
-
Heavy clouds and mist here. Very dark outside. On the plus side no moon means no End of Times ;). :P

Absolutely stunning. Got some pics.

I couldn't get any good eclipse pics with my phone, but I did get this pic after the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride in Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan. The full moon is just above my seat. Good thing I didn't have a full moon on my seat during the ride...

After a beautiful fine day thick unbroken cloud rolled in just before sunset.
-
we call that a poaching moon.
-
Stupid clouds.. Clear as could be at about 3:30 AM, but no blood moon or eclipse for us. I guess the world will keep on turnin".
-
Beautiful cloudless sky in RI, watched the whole thing. Full totality seemed to last only a few minutes here, but the entire show was definitely worth looking at. I'll have to remember so I can compare it to the next one in 2033 (when I'll be 91).

clear skies in london, could see it from the garage floor whilst trying not to strip sump bolts...
-
We ended up getting a great view of it here from the parking lot of Fantastic Caverns. Owl hooting in the background and coyotes calling.
-
It was very clear here in Vancouver, we rode up a local mountain.
What's with people using their flash to take photos?
We had someone behind us with their camera set to take a picture every 10 seconds complete with flash set for red eye reduction.
-
Even the super moon was banned here. It rained all night.
-
I saw it through the trees last night but it looked like a normal pale white moon to me.

We had completely clear skies in Madison, and I watched the whole thing from my driveway. I tried to get my 13-year-old as interested as I could.
Here's a low-res picture he took with his cellphone through one side of my 15x70 binoculars while I pointed them using the other side. No tripod, just a bipod (me). He then reddened the image on his cellphone and cropped and customized it with his initials to send to his friend who now lives Singapore, and therefore couldn't see the eclipse.

The actual image through the binoculars was very clear and detailed.

We had a very good view last night. It started off hazy but as the moon rose it cleared off.
-
We got about .75" rain.
-
Drat, I missed it. But we have pictures.
Our moon is dull - just doesnt have enough colors. The red appearance once every few decades ..... :coffee:
We should paint it.

Wallpaper would be nice.

We had a great view of it here in Cheese Land. High point of my day (evening?) after doing a complete detail on the LeMans.
