Title: 1000SP oil leak

Puddles of oil in the fins between the cylinders. See pic.Can't figure out for sure where the oil is coming from. Does not look like its coming from anything to do with the Lemans style breathing system. That oil hose from the head looks a bit dodgy and very wet. Do these commonly fail?

Any other ideas?

Replace the rocker feed hose.

And perhaps much more importantly, correct the way it is attached, factory way is fine or two -3 lines with double banjo but whoever did that wants to look at photo, then mirror.

Thanks gents. Jacksonracing, not sure what you mean. The oil line setup is stock as far as I can tell.

     Put one of MGCycles teflon hoses on it and motor on for a good many years. The mirror is refering to the fact that the hose seems to be making contact with the hot cylinder fins, not good install it seems.

Might be optical illusion but tin plate in pic looked like it's attached to feed bolt.
First impression is leak is from that joint not the hose itself
Whichever way, OE crimped hoses have been well known to leak, I use -3 SS brake hoses here but I'm sure any of suppliers have ready to go kits.
Tighten with hose well clear of fins, use new washers

There is nothing attached to that central oil hose bolt (not visible in the pic). That tab and bolt you can see is the coil bracket, up much higher. The hose is touching the fins but this is the only way it fits. Hoses are very stiff and possibly elongated? Anyway you guys have convinced me new hoses are in order, as I suspected. Thanks.

You almost answered your own question... "hoses seem stiff" something hoses are not supposed to be. Good call on the replacement and if you aren't sure call the guys over at MG. they will help you get the right part.
