Title: Deer Season
Post by: trippah on October 07, 2015, 03:40:27 PM
Well, apparently it was the first day of deer season here in beautiful Onodaga County New York.  As I slowed down for the 25 mph school zone, a very tall and stately deer stepped out into the road, stopped and turned his head in my direction and regally surveyed the situation.  I beeped, it snorted but stood its ground (well, tar I guess).  I am now stopped (cause they often traval in groups) and a school bus coming up the road slowed to a halt.  The deer nonchalantly looked over his shoulder at the other traffic, then back at me. After a couple of minutes it dipped its head and walked slowly over to the road side and then gracefully trotted into the housing subdivision.

I wondered if the deer was slightly miscalculating that opening day of deer season meant humans would only shoot at it; rather than drive vehicles into it.  Didn't exchange cell numbers so I guess I'll never know what it thought the " rules of engagement" are.

Save a motorcyclist.   Eat more venison!
