...other than the Guzzis that are in the garage already, I had to move the Hack over to make room for this guy.
I have been thinking about a RT for some time, this past week I made up my mind.
2010 R1200RT.

Good looking bike. I bought one that's almost identical two weeks ago (a 2009 RT).
So far, I'm very happy with mine and think that you will be too. Enjoy!

I'm tossing around the idea of trading in my K75 for a new or newer BMW. Yours is really nice looking.

Guilty...
I was on the fence over another Stelvio and the RT. I have put this off for many years. I hope I made the right move.

Congrats Rob!! I knew it wouldn't be long once the Stelvio sold. I just sold the SP today which takes a LOT of stress off relative to the house purchase. Please let us know how the RT suits you and Sue.

The heated seat was a bonus today riding up from NH to home.... :)
Good deal on the SP sale to Bill, I just wish I could ride it out for him...

Looks very much like the 2008 I just totaled. Very nice bike - i really liked mine. I have a scratched up top case, if you might be interested. You'll need to re-key it. Make offer. :-)

Oh, absolutely! It reminded me of the test for my endorsement: I hated the figure 8 part. Watching this reinforced that it was my lack of skill, not the bike. ;)

As I posted a few weeks ago, I now have an '07 R1200R that's occupying my garage next to my '12 Stelvio NTX. So far, we are "bonding", about 1500 miles (KY Guzzi Rally and BMW Falling Leaf Rally).
If your experience with the RT is similar to mine, I think you'll be happy with your purchase. Plenty of power, good handling/braking and the RT has very good weather protection. Enjoy and ride safe.

Yup, we are bonding too... the ride in today was a great comparison on the roads I travel from the other motorcycles to the RT. Love the handling although this morning I had to take it easy due to cold roads, didn't want to drop first time out...! :shocked:
The Meyer seat is just a tad too high for me and the shape makes for an odd pressure under the thighs and also make the reach to the ground a little awkward. A friend nearby has a couple of stock seats that I will try one to see if that helps.
The engine makes good power, not neck snapping rather linear and fluid, I like it.

That twin cam engine is a peach and many I've spoken to rate it more highly than the LC version, of course I'm biased I have the GS Adventure version and I absolutely love it.
Over here in the UK many riders go for an engine remap and decay the headers, makes another 15% more horses should you wish.

Hey Oldrat,
The map seems to be spot on, no burble at any RPMs, steady throttle pull and a huge bag of torque that moves the RT easily.
"Decay" the headers...? I cannot make the translation. Perhaps core them...? I dunno.
A friend here uses a Remus can on his '05 that sounds excellent however, I am not a big fan of loud for the sake of loud and I am not in any need of more performance really.
Perhaps later I will rethink that but for now, I am diggin' it... :bike-037:

It's interesting that this forum gets lively about bmw, but almost never the Goldwing. Personally, if I had to go bigger than my hydro I'd be looking at a GW variant.

Maybe because the boxer engine BMWs have a lot in common with the Guzzi v-twin and both are same architecture of gear box and shaft drive?

Ahh, got it, not sure why I could not put that together... I may investigate that mod however, not until I ride for a few more hundreds of miles, possibly in the Spring.

Oh I have great respect for the GW, nice piece of engineering, a couple of close riding buds have Wings, very capable, luxurious and great handing machines.
I just have a thing for Big Twins, always have, probably always will. We have the Electra Glide too, the rolling sofa, my Wife loves the ride of that.
