Title: Anyone have any upswept mufflers for a round head tonti?
Post by: ritratto on October 24, 2015, 06:30:05 PM
Building a custom bike and have put 1000SP peg brackets on and looking for some mufflers that will fit the look better than the stock pipes.

I've seen some Mistrals that are upswept and look and sound great. Not cheap though. I'll be interested to hear if there's anything else.

I am aware of the two options mentioned, but am hoping for Lafranconi or something made for Guzzi.

Is anyone aware of the quality of Sito mufflers?

I have a brand new set of chrome Lafranconi Competiziones that are superfluous to requirements, as they say.  I bought them for my 750S tribute bike, and subsequently decided to go with a Mistral system.  I was planning to hang onto them for a someday project, but really can't see something like that unfolding in the short term, and I could really use the funds for a new exhaust system for my police Eldo.  PM if interested.

Cheers,
Shaun

Try Hartmut at HT Moto, I bought this set through him, they are a lovely set of pipes.

So, here is the bike as of today. Hoping for something fitting to my idea. Have already spent a lot of ducets so far and hoping someone can help with something not too dear.

I have recently fitted some of these: http://www.stein-dinse.biz/Le-Mans/Mistral/Mistral-Ausp-Satz-LM-1-2-VA-konisch-EG-ABE::13735.html
I'm very pleased with the fit and quality. I got the balance pipe too which is slightly upswept. The whole thing fitted perfectly with the LM3 footrest hangers I have on my SP2

The key words seem to be "not too dear" as in "not expensive". That leaves anything of good quality out...

Very nice bike. Shame to put on some beat up cheapos after you've gone this far.

Well Charlie, the head pipes and crossover are new, so compititizioni are too loud and mistrals need all I have already bought out of the question. What else fits the stock three pieces?

Pancake.....did these fit the stock crossover? Do you have a photo on your bike? And how loud are they?

Nice Bike.

I fitted a up-swept pipe designed for the SP to my T4.
So a few things:
The foot pegs will have to be bent up out of the way, or replaced with foot pegs similar to the SP's as there is not enough room under the passenger foot-peg to allow fitting.

The mounting on the muffler is further to the rear so will require an extension from the passenger foot-peg or fabrication of a strut from the frame.

I also fitted the cross piece for the SP as the original cross over allowed the first part of the muffler, before the up-sweep,  to hang down slightly . The SP H piece has a slight bend which levels out the first section of the pipe.

Stein Dinse Australia might have the pipe you are looking for. They have them manufactured through http://www.dropbears.com/o/overlander/euro.htm

I tried to attach a copy of a photo - see how it goes.
