Title: Crashing Lannis's Party & Other Riding Tales
Post by: Bill Hagan on October 25, 2015, 10:18:10 AM
I am in Atlanta on "Mom duty," so I have some time to catch up on some pic posting and other admin.

Kathi was here (on that same eldercare mission) last week, and I stayed back in Cross Juncton.  In October, we give my brother-- who lives across the street from Mom's nursing home! -- a two-week break vice the usual monthly one-week "off."

So, Bob M., an old friend visited from Florida and spent a couple of days.  Trailered his beemer.

We did a great day trip; only 175 miles, but I may have to copyright the route!

View in "terrain" mode if possible.

Along the way, we stopped off and "crashed" Lannis's getaway at Capon Springs.  First time I'd met Fay, a great lady who, like Kathi with me, sweetly indulges Lannis in his various moto and other inexplicable "guy" hobbies.

Anyway, it was a super day trip, and Bob had a ride such as he doesn't get much of in North Cuba.

If you are still reading and care, here are some pix of our day in great fall weather and on some stupendous roads ... and a few gratuitous BS pix I can't let Kathi see for fear of being put on probation.   :thewife:

Probably best viewed in "slideshow" mode for captions ... again, "if you care."

Bill

It looks as though you really know how to live Bill  :thumb:

Great route. All those parallel ridges - it's almost enough to make one believe in continental drift.

We stopped and ate in the Cottage Café about a month ago, rode a couple of those roads in your map and really enjoyed being in the area. I remember seeing a very small sign that read Cross Junction, cannot remember the road # we were on. If the good lord is willing and the creeks don't rise I will return to that beautiful area next spring.

Bill,

Very nice!

How 'bout penciling in Judy and me on your calendar for next Fall?  We'll likely be on the Valkyrie.

Cheers!

OR alternatively come to the MD/DC Guzzi Rally in late September (when we "should collect our books and get on back to school").

These are the roads you'll be riding to get there!!

Just really nice this time of year up there ......

Those two bikes look great together Bill.  Nice job on the ride report as well.  You could make a video about it and call it "The Short Way Around".
