Wonder what it sounds like.

Thanks Penderic. Made a note of his website and I wish him luck but it is awful heavy IMO.

Thanks pokeyjoe.
It does sound and looks as though it likes bends too  so he got the suspension right too.
Good on him, it's a beauty. I'll bet he loves it

Now, *there's* an Aero engine conversion..
Looks like aircraft cylinders, with home made valve train and everything else. :thumb: The first ride video sounds like it's only running on one, but it sounds wonderful on the long video. Quite a piece of work..

I bet it nods to the right when you blip the throttle!

That long ride video happens to be a Bassa. I know this because this vid was the final push for me to buy my Titanium. Not sure why he would post it in this context. I guess because his engine sounded like a lawn mower.
The side stand noise at the beginning is a dead give away.

*Maybe* to the left.. if it turns in the normal aircraft direction, it will be running ccw viewed from the front.

I *thought* it sounded amazingly like a Guzzi..

Interesting project with the worst induction and exhaust tubing...Looks like the "Tin Man"

Wow. Hey RonKom, I recall a Virginia Guzzi breakfast back around 2008 or so and having a conversation with a guy who talked about this design. It's Kevin DeShazer. I poked around and found his site.

Very cool.

The genius and simplicity of the segmented case that doesn't leak. The way the exhaust pipes twist and turn and fool the eye into thinking "organic". This is new and fascinating and has never been done.
Pretty proud of himself, isn't he? Well, it *is* a pretty good trick to design and build an engine.
You can see from the animation, it turns in normal aircraft rotation, so it will rock left when blipping the throttle.
Actually, I don't think much of it in a motorcycle..that lower cylinder certainly is in harm's way.. but it just might make a pretty decent light aircraft engine.

I agree, but reading his blurb, he seems to like it, and I guess that's what's important. I wonder if there are any problems from the long tubes of the intake manifold. Like I bet he'll get icing in near freezing, humid weather.

Dumb.
I'd be more impressed if he made a copy of the V8 MG. Something that would actually be a motorcycle instead of a show vehicle.
Or, if he made the radial and put it in an airplane. That would be cool. A subscale Eastbourne Monoplane would be good for that one.

Kevin used to come to many of our 3rd Saturday Guzzi lunch meets, but hasn't been seen for a few years.
Probably because he was in his machine shop making his motorcycle engine!
It would never be a production design, but no reason it couldn't be ridden to a rally or a multi-state trip. One thing's for sure, if anything broke, Kevin could fix it wherever he was!
The 16-minute video isn't the radial, I assume, sounds more like a twin (suggested it's a Guzzi?). The video of the radial running sounds like it's just hitting on one cylinder .... maybe it'll be sorted soon .....
Wish I could build my own motorcycle, but have neither the motivation, the skills, or the time-priority to do it ...

Certainly sounds like a Guzzi to me.
