Maybe , a line from a famous manipulator of time .
Yeah , this is a great game , and will probably be a great series . How about Bartolo Colon and Chris Young ?

Ah, what a bummer!
-
Let's Go Royals!!!!
-
And Volquez didn't know his father died before the game. Great game from the stories, one of the few times I wish I had a tv. Go Yankees! Uh, in 2016.
-
I live in a mixed household, that is, I root for the Yankees, she roots for the Mets, so I'm half-heartedly hoping the Mets win this one. What a game though! Great baseball played by both teams (except for the Mets' errors). Have to give it to the fans at Kauffman, they were intense. Mets really need to take at least one in K.C. tonight to still have a chance. deGrom vs. Cueto, it's going to be a good one! (http://wildguzzi.com/forum/Smileys/default/popcorn.gif)

Excellent in depth analysis, and don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. If you're referring to their ownership, I'd tend to agree with you, but the players themselves are a pretty likeable bunch.

Now now .
Really don't have a dog in this fight , more a fan of the game . This WS is shaping up to be the best in years , maybe the best since the 2002 contest between the Giants and Angels . Troy Glaus had an amazing series , 8 RBIs , 385 average , here's hoping for another classic . I do wish MLB would shorten the season a bit , playing into November seems to be risky weather wise , especially in the Northeast .

You won't get many friends if you said that in Queens.

I seldom watch the world serious.
-
With 18 minutes of action packed into 2 1/2 hours I turn the TV to a baseball game when it's time for a nap.
-
The winning pitcher (Young) is 37 years old and loser (Colon) is 42 years old. Combined age of 77 years. May be a new "Age" record!

Thought you were describing NASCAR.
World Series? Is that on already? I'll go Mets. Don't know anything about either one but I'm partial to NY teams. Giants, Jets, Bills, Yankees, Mets, they're still in NY, right?

The first game was full of oddities , wouldn't it be a hoot if Chris Young ends up starting and also winning game 4 , he could be
legitimate candidate for series MVP if the Royals win . Felt some empathy with Colon , wait all of those years to make a WS , pitch really well , and get the loss .

Dusty (Baker) should not have taken Russ Ortiz out of the game at that time.

I would start a poll , but considering that the moto gp situation has almost led to blows ... :violent1:

I'm a lifelong Giants fan, but, since they're not in it (next year) I'm pulling for the Royals after they got so close last year.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but what's the reasoning behind a moderator inciting "situations" (albeit motorcycle related via racing) that "almost lead to blows", and after heroic efforts so that it doesn't lead to blows, start up another thread on a totally non-motorcycle related subject about competitions that ALSO might lead to blows? Sounds a little like the fireman who sets fires so he can go run and put them out .... ?
Just sayin' .... Seems to me that once you have the mod hat on, you ease up on your own personal incitements a bit .... ?

Lannis , I didn't seek the job , and was in fact asked by Luap to take this on . He never said that I couldn't participate . If you have a problem with me , I suggest you take it up with him , fair enough ?
Dusty

Now , back to the WS . Looks like we have another tight game .
Dusty

Lannis , I didn't seek the job , and was in fact asked by Luap to take this on . ...

Well, I guess that leaves it absolutely wide open then; it makes a real difference if you were "asked" to take it on rather than applying for the job.
Go for it.

Back to bazeball....
Oh Oh.... Two and O..... Let's go Royals!
BTW... I haven't watched the Mets this year but they look like a quality club, unlike Toronto.
-
Yeah, another great game. What a gem by Cueto. deGrom was good, but looking a little tired, and the Royals made the Mets pay for every mistake. Oh well, we'll see what happens in New York.

Both of these teams are playing at a high level . Tonight was a bit surprising , the Royals are really hard to get out .

Well you got my attention calling the Jays down . Ya, they played some pretty bad baseball in their series against KC but they won their division . That's the same division the Yankees and Red Sox are in . What the hell's not quality about that ? #**#Phew !!

Just good natured banter probably . Damn , the AL East is tough , and now the NL central is getting really good . Win 98 games and only be a wild card . Heck , Toronto and Tampa Bay can have great seasons and still finish third in the East

Tampa Bay always gave the Jays the pip but not so much this year losing Zorbrist . He's a great player .
I really like KCs chances . Ned Yost used to play for the Vancouver Canadians AAA team way back when they were Milwaukee's farm team . We went to most of the games . I think my mother in law was in love with him , lol . I wish he was managing the Jays ! I'm rooting for him .
Cheers ,
Steve

Minor league baseball is alive and well . I had the great pleasure of seeing Ivan Rodriguez play in Tulsa before he began his stellar career in the "show" . Think he was 18 years old , and already there was something special there .
Yeah , Yost has come into his own as a manager , KC did well hiring the man . One thing truly enjoyable during broadcasts are the small in game interviews with the managers , always amazed at how composed and intelligent the good ones are .

I was referring to the Jays behavior, taunting young children, smashing the heck out of a trash can with a ball bat, stuff like that.

Step Right up and Greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies
Bring your wife
Guaranteed to have the Time of your Life!
Because the Mets are really sockin the ball!
Knockin those home runs over the wall.
East side,
West side,
everybody's coming down
to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town!
Oh, the butcher and the baker and the people on the streets,
where did they go? To MEET THE METS!
Oh, they're hollerin' and cheerin' and they're jumpin' in their seats,
where did they go? To MEET THE METS!
All the fans are true to the orange and blue,
so hurry up and come on down -
'cause we've got ourselves a ball club,
The Mets of New York town!
Give 'em a yell!
Give 'em a hand!
And let 'em know your rootin' in the stand!
Come on and MEET THE METS,
MEET THE METS,
Step right up and greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies,

Boys will be boys I guess , certainly emotions running on a little too much testosterone . Rever was picked up late in the season . In a big game like that you'd think the umping would be a little better . I think the trash can was the ump after he got to the dugout , lol !
I must admit I'm not a big fan of the booze bash these clubs have after a win for everyone to see . Wearing goggles and spraying beer around in public . I don't think young kids should see that kind of behavior from their role models . They should keep TV and the press out of it . In Toronto when they beat Texas to advance they where out in the field soaking the fans . I hope they put a lid on it in the future . Cheers , Steve

The Mets have redefined the word choke. What was tonight, the 3rd game of their 4 losses that they gave up late leads? This deciding game was particularly ugly, 2 in the 9th, 5 more in the 12th.
-
They should've pulled Harvey out after the 8th but when they didnt after he gave up the walk, well then it was too late.
-
Winning the World Series is an amazing accomplishment , but in baseball , the players and organization really care about winning the pennant . Any way ,
CONGRATULATIONS ROYALS
And for you Mets fans , your club had a great year , good to see the "other" NYC team get some spotlight :thumb:
Dusty
-
What a great win for KC , they deserve it all the way . I've never seen a more determined team and have never seen a team come from behind from the 7th on to win so many times . Unbelievable and could be the start of a new dynasty ! I hope they stick with their guys next year .

Collins should have stuck to his guns instead of the tail wagging the dog. Immediately reminded me of Pedro and Little in 2003

Have you heard about the riot in Kansas City last night?
Hundreds of people gathered in the Power and Light District. Fire Marshall had to stop people from going in and redirected them to a riverfront area.
Drinking, fireworks and rabble rousers all over the city.
Did you hear about the riot?
Burning of cars?
Shooting of police?
Looting of businesses?
No, you did not.
Because none of these things happened.
Way to go KC!
THAT'S MY CITY!!

Actually we were just talking about the last 1985 series and this one remembering where I was and ironically I was in bed asleep at the end of both series winning games, in 85 and 15.
The whole town is shut down today for the parade, most every school district is closed for it as well. SO we'll see how the rioting goes today. I'll probably be asleep for that as well.
