hey . i rec'onize that bike.
season's drawing to a close. . wonder if they may be inclined to deal on a bike like that.
-
No, I'm ok with what I got but it is a nice looking bike.
-
Jay was just lamenting that their price on that bike just went UP because some incentive ended.
-
That one has been sitting for a year and a half. I'm sure a better deal could be struck.
-
Would that bike have a plastic tank? I wonder why it's been on the sales floor for such a long time.
-
Nope, all of the V7s from 2013 on have metal tanks.
$2000 off MSRP looks like a pretty good deal to me, but I already have that same bike.

Do you mean when they were first released in Europe? It took until 2013 for them to reach the US, no? In 2012 the US was still getting the classic, which I believe is listed with a 4.5 gallon fuel capacity, so I think it was still a plastic tank. However, the 2012 Racer with the black tank was metal, if my memory serves.

This is happening all over the industry, not just this bike at this shop. Many "esteemed" motorcycle dealers of all brands find themselves with floor plans laden with new bikes that are one and two years old.
What was it Clinton said years ago? "It's the economy...." Still applies today.

In the US, 2012 was the last year for the V7 "Classic". They had the new metal tank with the old dual throttle body engine. 2013 was the first year of the Special and Stone with both the metal tank and the new engine.

Listen to Cam and Rocker (and me), the last year of the V7C (2012 US) got metal tanks instead of the smaller plastic despite what tech or sales literature still said.
We even had someone on this board who didn't realize he had a 5.8 gallon tank for like a year.

Thank you all for clarifying. :boozing:
Now, someone buy that '14 Special. There's still time to get in some great late season rides! :bike-037:
