I attended this year's Barber Vintage event for the first time and just wanted to say that I'm sure I probably met some of you guys there...but I don't know who?
I can't tell you how much fun I had, even by myself. The museum, the extremely well manicured and put together track, the races, events, the NINE Brittens, the chance to see a couple of MSG01's in the pits and on the track and shoot...just some of the coolest vintage bikes ever parked in every parking area. Every manufacturer was represented and a few I never knew existed.
I've been to half a dozen bike weeks in Daytona and nothing was as cool as this event. I also got a super deal on some gloves, new custom ear plugs and yes...another T-shirt. Had to buy a shirt from Mrs. Britten herself...how could I not?
If you like vintage bikes in general (and newer ones as well) I suggest you add this to your bucket list and move it toward the top. Truly a wonderful event!

Absolutely true! It's like being in a dream featuring every motorcycle you ever lusted after, and then you go to the museum to find mental overload.

I was there also on my B11.
It isn't like Daytona bike week at all. I did not hear a single PO-TA-TO PO-TA-TO outside my motel room.
Even getting a flat tire on the way there couldn't wipe the smile from my face.

I was there for Friday afternoon. The museum completely blew me away. The biggest wow was this bike.

The event goes from strength to strength. They seem to have solved their entrance/exit/parking issues this year (but then you knew Mr. Barber would-first class in this place is a starting point). Construction is underway on a 80K+ sq. ft. annex, which will connect to main building. 100+ bikes racked in restoration area awaiting work ( a docent told us there are multiple off site storage warehouses full of bikes). As we left the museum on Sat. morning there was a car pulled to the curb out front (obviously with VIP clearance), Malcolm Smith hanging out the window chatting with Mr. Barber. Well, you don't see that every day. Visit next year or any time you can, you won't be disappointed.

Definitely on my bucket list.

What can I say? It's the best motor sickle event  in the US, as far as I'm concerned. Miss it at your peril.

All the more reason for WG t shirts.. :boozing:

I help with the Vintage Trials event, but missed out this year. I used to live in Daytona, and this event blows it away for the true motorcyclist.

Rode that event one year with Dick "Bugsy" Mann and Beno Rodi, What an honor

Twice been to the old Barber Museum in downtown Birmingham, which is now where the Motus bikes are made. Yet to see the Barber track and humongous current museum. The old museum only displayed 120 bikes @ a time and even then I was in AWE! Back then you were not allowed to take any pics. 1 of these days............... the new museum isn't exactly in our backyard. :weiner:
