As others have already said, when in installing Stelvio hand guards on the Norge, extra washers are needed, especially on the throttle side grip end attachment to fill the gap between the bar end weight properly. If you don't add extra washer(s) then the throttle can bind.
If you put a lock washer instead of a flat washer, it works just as good and also helps keep things tight. A 3/8" stainless steel washer works perfectly. Of course, use the thread locker as stated in the instructions.
Why Moto Guzzi didnt leave out the spacers for the Stelvio, add a couple washers and call it a Norge handguard seems shortsighted. Wouldn't cost them anything to do but would attract accessory buyers.

Thanks for the tip --
I was thinking of doing this on my bike but wasn't sure if it would work with my setup:
I have seen how the handguards will work with a throttlemiester, but I also have a Ram GPS mount on the left mirror stem. Do you think the GPS mount would interfere with the handguard ? I'm not sure how the handguard attaches on that side ? Your thoughts on this appreciated --

Dam! Nice timing on that as I just received my gruards. Just save me time and I am sure a headache.

This will depend on the length of the stem on the mirror - hard to say. An alternative for you is the RAM base that mounts to the top of the clutch reservoir; I use this (GPS on left) as well as one on the brake reservoir on the right for my SPOT tracker.
You can also use a slightly longer machine screw and some washers to re-locate the RAM mount you have to the windshield pivot bolt. Some riders like the centered position this gives the GPS; I might have done this, but the two GPS based devices need to be at least 9-12 inches apart for best results.

Post a pic of your setup and I can tell you right away.

I've got the "long" version of the Throttlemiester bar ends and the Ram mount on the mirror stem. As ITSec pointed out, I could pretty easily move the GPS mount if necessary, but I'm wondering if I could install the hand guards as is ---
Thanks for the replies !

I'm very interested in this cause I have the long throttlemeister ends too

They should go on OK. The hand guards have a recess for the threaded portion of the mirror stalks. From the pic you might only need to put a spacer of sorts in that recess and put everything back on. Use SS washers HD Lowes or Orchard will have them. I think 2-3 washers should do the trick.
If the mirror stalk threaded portion is not long enough then you could remove the lower but and replace that with something of a normal thickness and that should give you more than enough reach with the threads. The lower but is nearly twice as thick a a standard one. Do not use thread locker on the mirror stalks.

The outer end of the hand guards are out nearly to the ends of the standard bar end weights.

Thanks for your insight into this -- Just curious, what's the thinking behind NOT putting thread locker on the mirror stalks ?
