Anyone know a source for those @#%& things that evaporate once they hit the floor? MG Cycle does not carry them.

Unfortunately you have to buy the whole drive assembly, they're not available separately.

I just used an appropriate sized stainless steel washer when I had to replace one. I've looked at it a few times over the last 100,000 miles. No wear is obvious.

Good to know,
Would heating up a stainless steel washer red hot and quenching it in oil harden it?
Cheers

Dunno. I've never heat treated stainless steel.. but it would depend on what *kind* of stainless steel you are working with. I would be afraid that doing what you are saying would make it brittle. If Wayne has had good luck using a stainless washer, I'd go with that.
You could, of course make a washer out of an oil or water hardening steel, harden, and temper it, and you'd be golden. Sounds like a lot of trouble, though.

Hi everyone.
The source is www.kullager.se
Article Number: PS61210
Dimension 6x12x1 (all in millimetre)
NEVER use a standard washer because that is 1,2mm thick.
I have restored more than 70 gearboxes and every time I assembly the speedo drive - I test that it rotates freely. If you use washer with a thickness of 1,2mm - the rotation CAN BE blocked. I have seen the negative result.
I bought around 100 of these washers - and since I do not expect to live long enough to use everyone - I will give many of them away for free.
(I could need help looking for 28mm risers for V11 Sport Coppa Italia 01500280 / 01500281 / 01500680 and the Carbon fairing for V11 Sport Rosso Mandello)

I was going to order a few of these washers from Fastenal but I'll never use 100 of them. Does anyone have or know of a source that can sell me a couple of these washers? Thanks.
