Are these reliable bikes if properly maintained?

After you buy it is probably not a good time to ask that question..

Please tell me those aren't Norge matching socks because I'll have to sell my Norge if that is true. :blank:
-
Only if you have the matching Guzzi suspenders
-
One ride a year you should be good.

She sure l@@ks purddy. :thumb:

Gotta lean forward more or you'll never be able to turn the bars. Avoid the BMW seated position. Also reduces the weggie experience and resulting laundry challenges. Borax is no match.
The white Norges look nice. I prefer handsome to pretty when it comes to bikes.
Yes, feeble attempts to keep the thread going.

This may be the only photo we know of where a Norge is doing a wheelie! :)
-
Only important question is whether it's a flat or foller tappet version.
-
Ahh, yeah.. now we're getting to the crux of the matter. I haven't read of problems with the flat tappet Norge engines.. why they would be different than Stelvio or Grease O would be a mystery to me, though. I'm *assuming* yours is an 11? 8V?
-
How does that work, one day before winter storage and you aren't very winter dressed.

No, 2014

It's called Minnesnowda, actually the last day for nice riding, the saddle was in route to Russell.

foller?
Mine is a 2014, hope she has roller tappets?
Word on the street was that roller tappet motors were finding their way into CARC bikes mid-2012 manufacture dates. My VIN was amongst the very earliest in the range and is confirmed to have the roller tappets.
Curtis Harper on WG wrote:According to Piaggio, Roller tappets are in the following engines.
Stelvio AC : After AC12596 03/12/2012
GRiSO A8 : After 13524 04/12/2012
Norge AA : After 12214 04/18/2012
Just check your motor number and see if it falls above or below A8 - 13524.

:thumb: :thumb: The FJR is a sweet looking machine!
Is the reason it goes in for Winter storage because it's white and therefore can't be seen in a snowstorm, or because you can't put a decent set of winter tires on it.
Seems that this bike has been well tested in winter environments, maybe some lightly studded tires would enable it to be ridden during the colder months as a tribute to its namesake - Norway!

No, 2014
Ok, now I feel better. My cryptic first answer alluded to the tappet problem, and I feared you had it. It would have been a very bad thing to buy the bike and *then* ask if they were ok.
You *should* be good with a roller engine. Norges are a hoot. It's is a great mile eater, and a decent sporty bike once you get to the "good" riding areas.

Yikes, where is that engine number located, under the plastic?
This spring, I'm having the dealer do the 600 mile service, I'm asking if it's flat or roller.
It is a 2014 according to the title.

That's why I purchased it, hoot to drive and loved the way she handles in the twisties, better than that old 02 FJR.

I put 8,000 miles on mine this summer.......no problems

You should be fine. Honestly the FJR is kind of a tank in the real twistys. <running and ducking from the FJR owners on this board>
The roller engines started being built in 12. You've already answered yourself in this post..

I don't believe you can trust this information. My '12 Norge is 12206 and it absolutely has roller tappets.

I've been running my 2012 Norge for two years with no problems besides a leaking oil switch [ 5 months to get part] and a gas gauge that lied. Bike loves to eat up highway.
